Not Another Ad Platform
The Internet has been funded by the collection and selling of user data, primarily for the use in targeted advertising, often without the knowledge of its users. Numerous studies and surveys have been taken and it is generally accepted that 87% of users to do not want to be tracked online. Various surveys also show that 96% of users feel that the preference for “Do No Track” (DNT) should be respected. Yet Norton, the digital security company, states that 79% of sites still track users as website tracking is not illegal. At Alana we don’t need to collect data on users, so we don’t, as we only give individuals the specific information they have requested, not things we feel they may like. Alana is NOT an ad platform like Google or Amazon, so competitors are NEVER introduced. Alana only provides consumers the ability to purchase the things they want frictionlessly on their mobile devices.
